How to turn on Instagram two factor authentication
Instagram two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of security that can be added to your Instagram account to prevent unauthorized access. When 2FA is enabled, you'll need to provide an additional piece of information, in addition to your password, to log in to your account. This information can be a code sent to your phone via text message, or a code generated by an authenticator app.
To enable 2FA on Instagram:
- Go to your profile and tap the three lines in the top right corner.
- Tap "Settings" and then "Security."
- Tap "Two-Factor Authentication" and then "Require Security Code."
- Follow the prompts to set up 2FA using either a text message or an authenticator app.
Once you've set up 2FA, you'll need to provide the additional security code each time you log in to your Instagram account or make certain changes to your account settings. This helps to prevent unauthorized access to your account, even if someone else knows your password.
